My Mixologist's Playbook for July🍾

And for the month of July, I'm giving you my daily take on what it actually takes to get there.

It's going to be fun. You'll pick up easy things you can do, and it's going to get you excited about your signature brand.

Three things happened this past month that led me to this...

1.
I got inspired at the Craft + Commerce conference in Boise watching brands get genuinely creative with their content and make their thought leadership impossible to miss.

2. I haven't posted much on social lately, and I needed something to get me back in motion. Half the time it's because I have so much to say that I freeze and post nothing at all.

3. This is what it actually looked like batching my first few YouTube videos:

Hit record.
Check my outline.
Say my first thought.
Stumble through it.
Check my outline again.
Go again.
Nail the line.
Then completely forget the motion I was doing with the cocktail while I said that line.
Reset the cocktail, check the outline, and attempt it all over again.

Me: I'm going to be a YouTuber!

My ADHD Brain: LMAO, think again.​

Not only was that painful while I was recording it, it means I am taking FOREVER to edit one video. (Just one of many lessons I'm learning with my new YouTube channel).

So yeah... turns out talking on demand, while being articulate, with lots of energy and mixing cocktails or doing anything else at the same time is NOT like riding a bike. It is a skill that needs practicing and repetition and consistency.

So that's what we are doing. I'm going to use it as a time to test different formats on Instagram, figure out this whole YouTube Shorts thing, engage more on Threads, actually post on LinkedIn more than like once a month and maybe even reshare to TikTok, because why not.

June had me everywhere: Boise for Craft + Commerce, celebrating Pride, deep in World Cup mode, embarrassingly invested in Love Island, and still in the thick of condo renovations that refuse to wrap up. July I'm hoping for less chaos and more chill. More time at the cabin, more days on the water, and a lot of soaking in summer once we get past this heat wave we're stuck in this week.
